Back East | Day 13

Day 12 stretched into Day 13 as we tried to get some sleep. By 5am, we decide to get moving again. We got past check-ins and found a place to have breakfast while we waited for our 9am flight. We were exhausted. After an hour and a half flight, we made it to Washington D.C! Taking a complementary ride to were we would be staying, we dropped our stuff of there and went on a tour of the house of representatives and the United States Capital building. Eating dinner at an American Indian museum, I tried my first buffalo burger. I still think beef is better.

Back East | Day 12

Day 12 was bitter sweet for me. Not only did we have to leave New York, but also Elaina. We woke up bright and early to see her off at 8am. After that we visited the cathedral church of Saint John the Divine. It is apparently the largest cathedral in the world. We then took the metro and then air bus to the airport. When we got there, we waited for our plane to get in but it got delayed for an hour. A while later we were let on the plane and drove around for a while until they had to let us off again due to bad weather in Washington D.C. Getting off, it took us another hour to get one piece of luggage and another one or two the get the rest. What we didn't know was that once we got our luggage, we were not allowed inside the airport again since we were not flying out that day. By this time it was getting late, so we had dinner at 10pm and tried to figure out what to do. We then spent a sleepless night in the international section of the airport. It was cold. Maybe the sketchy hotel would have been better.  It was an adventure.
